Impact of recycling CA7ONL with jobs active

Issue/Introduction

If a change is made to the RESTART statement in the initialization file and I need to recycle CA 7, will this impact jobs that are current running or do I need to wait until all jobs complete?

Resolution

You can recycle CA 7 while jobs are running and there will not be any impact on the tracking of the jobs.  The CA 7 SMF exits are loaded and tracking the jobs execution. ICOM is still running and writing the SMF records out to the communications dataset (COMMDS).  When CA 7 is restarted it will pick up the SMF records from the COMMDS and process them.
