V37027I ...SEE PI# 601765 AND 601769 IN THE
V37027I ...OPTIONAL MAINTENANCE APPENDIX IN USER'S GUIDE

Environment

Release : 12.5

Component : CA Disk Backup and Restore

Cause

As delivered, the CA Allocate non-VSAM End-Of-Volume Support excludes data sets that have either an ABEND or EOV exit
coded in their DCB's exit parameter list. Some Cobol II allocations are considered to be ineligible for EOV processing
for this reason. One of the following Optional Maintenance features can be used to disable such exclusions...

Resolution

PLSEOV65
N (default) - Feature inactive.
Y - All data sets with DCB exit are EXCLUDED for EOV except those where the DDname //PI601765 is present in the JCL.

PLSEOV69
N (default) - Feature inactive.
Y - All data sets with DCB exit are INCLUDED for EOV except those where the DDname //PI601769 is present in the JCL.

There are more details listed with these Vkgparms, but they only add to confusion.
These are the important facts to be aware of.

Additional Information

The simple resolution to these abends is to add the following to the CA Allocate VKGPARMS member:

PLSEOV69 (Y)

No overrides to the JCL are needed.
This Vkgparm will not cause any problems.
