Error condition discrepancy between ASM and Integration agent.

Issue/Introduction

A Spectrum alarm for an ASM monitor triggers right after coming out of maintenance mode.  After further research, it appears that the times that ASM is reporting an error condition does not correlate with what APM integration agent detects. 

 

 

The logic behind this setup is to allow a 5 minute polling interval and 1 minute recovery time before triggering an alarm.  Our ASM licenses consists of  all 5 minute http/https monitors, so we designed the integration agent alarm to match the polling interval + wait another 60 seconds before triggering an alarm.

Cause

Product Limitation,  Per the Introscope and ASM design, the alert configuration is not feasible. As APM does not report data real time. 

Resolution

The above Spectrum alarm setup won't work per the APM Integration and ASM reporting mechanism.
