Issue/Introduction

When loading seos we get the following error message in the /var/log/messages file

Dec 19 23:05:10 ServerName kernel: Request for unknown module key 'Broadcom Inc: PAMSC: 10d17b74598063edf578c14ad40e1e7b33b92e4e' err -11

Environment

Privileged Identity Manager 12.8

PAM Server Control 14.x

Cause

In order to support the secure boot feature in linux we need to compile all kernel modules with a certificate. This certificate is used during the load of the kernel modules to ensure the module can be trusted by the linux kernel. After compiling the kernel modules it this way the system will produce a warning when loading on a kernel that does not have secure boot loading from the linux EFI boot loader.

Resolution

Please ignore this error message if you are not using the UEFI boot loader with secure boot.

Otherwise please follow the documentation in the support manuals for importing the certificate.
