Jobtrac messages TRAC182I with RETRY FAILED coming out many times

Issue/Introduction

Jobtrac has stopped running jobs.

In JOBTRAC Started Task, seeing lots of messages TRAC182I ….RETRY FAILED

Environment

Release : 11.0

Resolution

In JOBTRAC Started Task, seeing lots of messages TRAC182I ….RETRY FAILED:

 

TRAC182I -EXCL_CNTL RETRY FAILED AT GJTRDCOM ,KEY=YN0MASTER.............

It means it's getting a RC 61 (61) from Datacom, EXCLUSIVE CONTROL, WAIT EXCEEDED.

 

Issue the Modify command   F muf,COMM STATUS

This can help to see, if there are hanging DB requests.

 

Need to review the Datacom MUF Started Task joblog.

 

In the Datacom joblog you will see the following messages:

 

MUF.....:DB00311I - LOG AREA IS 100% FULL

 

You will need to run the SPILL job for Datacom Log records to offload.      

Issue Modify command  F muf,SPILL  and check results in the MUF joblog.

 

Then issue F muf,STATUS a few times so that the status results show up in the MUF joblog.
