Client Automation - RVI Collect Task for VCenter is in Error

Issue/Introduction

A RVI Collect Task for inventory of vcenter server is in error status.
 
 
In TRC_UAM_AMVMAGENT*.log following error appears :

011219-13:01:04.5297758L|005920|000017c4|amVMAgent |amVMAgent |000000|NOTIFY | vmRegister::RunAgent Failed to register computer
 

Cause

This problem occurs if some ESX servers in vcenter are in disconnect status.
amvminvux.exe module could not collect the hostname of these ESX Servers and the overall status of RVI Collect task is in ERROR even if all others ESX servers have been correctly inventoried.

Resolution

Open a case at CA Broadcom technical Support requesting the fix :
 
T5SD186 for ITCM 12.9
T5SD202 for ITCM 14.0 SP1
 
 
Note : These fixes are included in ITCM 14.0 SP2 and earlier versions.
