Issue/Introduction

An OOTB portlet query or OOTB action in Clarity is suddenly very slow, with performance that could go up to 10-15 minutes or get timeout.

This could be the case for some users but not others. (for example with Instance Rights only).

Usually the lower environment will work or other environments work.

Sometimes the case could resolve by itself and then come back in a while.

Environment

Release : All supported Clarity releases on Oracle

Resolution

  • This is due to a poor Oracle execution plan.
  • To resolve this issue, contact your DBA.
  • They will want to run the query in real time and look in OEM console (Oracle Tuning Advisor) to see what plan is used and what changes are suggested.
  • They can then apply the changes and make the query faster instantaneously.
  • For SAAS please contact Support to set up a meeting with them and SAAS DBA.
