When monitoring a program with CA Intertest for CICS the client notices high CPU consumption for one of the CA Intertest modules. Any know problems with high CPU consumption – utilization using CA Intertest for CICS to monitoring a program?

Resolution
There are no known problems or PTFS that address high CPU consumption for CA Intertest for CICS releases 8.0, 8.5 or r 9.1. These are the GA releases that have been support for the last ten years and no PTFS were ever written to address high CPU consumption.
There is an inherent overhead in monitoring with CA Intertest for CICS. Each application program instruction must be evaluated before execution. This evaluation results in hundreds of instructions being executed for every application instruction. The more CA Intertest for CICS monitoring options set for the program being tested the more overhead added to the execution of the program. There been a couple of queries about high CPU consumption over the years but none turned out to be a product problem that required a fix.
