What is the difference between archiving a CA Endevor element (ARCHIVE action) and TRANSFERring an element to an archive file?

The following information will help to select the right option to archive an Endevor element to a file. 

What is the difference between archiving a CA Endevor element using ARCHIVE action and TRANSFERring an element to an archive file using TRANSFER action ?

Resolution

There is no difference in what gets written to the file (history, component list, etc).

The difference is in the method used to get the info back.

- RESTORE gets everything back.

- TRANSFER doesn't get back component list info and only gets history if WITH HISTORY option is used.
