Issue/Introduction

Where should the command to mount the file system be executed?

The customer is installing CCS390 and she would like to mount zFS filesystem regarding following instruction.

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-mainframe-software/traditional-management/ca-common-services-for-z-os/15-0/installing/install-products-using-pax-enhanced-esd-files/allocate-and-mount-a-file-system.html

3. Mount the file system by customizing one of the following samples to your site requirements:

– On a zFS, use the following sample:

MOUNT FILESYSTEM('your_zFS_data_set_name')
      MOUNTPOINT('yourUSSpaxdirectory')
      TYPE(ZFS)  MODE(RDWR)
      PARM(AGGRGROW)

Should the above MOUNT command be executed as a command on the TSO OMVS shell, or should be executed and sold on the ISPF command shell?

Or should be use JCL's IKJEFT01 to execute the mount command, as in the following sample (the CCS did not have a suitable sample, so I referred to the SYSVIEW sample)?

//MOUNT    EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01
//SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSTSIN  DD *
MOUNT FILESYSTEM('your_zFS_data_set_name')
      MOUNTPOINT('yourUSSpaxdirectory')
      TYPE(ZFS)  MODE(RDWR)
      PARM(AGGRGROW)

/*

Environment

Release : 15.0

Component : CCS390 - CA COMMON SERVICES FOR Z/OS

Resolution

The MOUNT command can be run with JCL as follows ;

//MOUNT EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01
MOUNT FILESYSTEM('your_zFS_data_set_name')
MOUNTPOINT('yourUSSpaxdirectory')
TYPE(ZFS) MODE(RDWR)
PARM(AGGRGROW)
/*
