Issue/Introduction

When using CMS to format a minidisk, you can format it with a label of:    (temp)

Can you do this with the HiDRO FORMAT command?

 

Environment

Release : 2.8

Component : CA VM:Backup for z/VM

Resolution

Parenthesis are considered part of the command syntax, so trying to use that as part of the disk label will not work.

Suggestions as a workaround:

hidro format unit 191 (blk 4k nop) (newlabel (volser new [temp] )

or

hidro format unit 191 (blk 4k nop) (newlabel (volser new *temp* )
