Issue/Introduction

The Operating System based metrics that are provided with the APIM EP Agent scripts i.e.gatewayOperatingStatus.pl and gatewayOSResoure.pl, are described here

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/layer7-api-management/precision-api-monitoring/3-4/using-ca-application-performance-management/view-the-metrics-description.html#concept.dita_20490f61549782fa97b58bf3b49e568138341812_OSMetrics

This does not describe in detail the metrics under the JVM and Database branches of the gateway metric tree

Environment

Release : 3.4

Component : Integration with APM

Resolution

The database metrics are derived directly from the output of mysql -e "SHOW STATUS" command and so the meanings correspond with what that command reports. These are documented here for version Mysql 5.7 - check the doc for which ever mysql release in use Below is the link for version 5.7 which is what is shipped with the standard Gateway Appliance

https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/server-status-variables.html

The JVM metrics are produced by the APIM policy apmJvmMetrics and the metrics produced are based the JVM Metrics Assertion as described in the attached pdf
