Issue/Introduction

If we do a webagent upgrade directly as per broadcom's document, what is a roll back plan?

https://techdocs.broadcom.com/content/broadcom/techdocs/us/en/ca-enterprise-software/layer7-identity-and-access-management/single-sign-on/12-52-01/upgrading/upgrade-a-web-agent/upgrade-an-apache-based-agent-on-unix-linux.html

Environment

Release : 12.52

Component : SITEMINDER -POLICY SERVER

Resolution

The easiest way to do this is to just tar up or even just copy the directory before the install, e.g.

cp -a /opt/siteminder-agent /opt/siteminder-agent.old

Do upgrade.

Whoops, doesn't work, need to rollback ASAP

cp -a /opt/siteminder-agent cp -a /opt/siteminder-agent.broken-upgrade

mv /opt/siteminder-agent.old /opt/siteminder-agent
