CA Network Flow Analysis (NetQos / NFA)

Issue/Introduction

While using NFA you may notice that periodic SNMP polling does not work as expected (each device should get polled 1x every 24 hours). If this does not occur, device changes such as name, speed, description and/or complete replacement changes would not reflect in NFA until a manual SNMP refresh or a "RebootDetection" occurs.

Cause

The Poller code from NFA 9.1 to NFA 10.0.2 has conflicting threads. If there is are any devices that cannot SNMP poll (InitialPoll or RebootRefresh), those devices will continuously attempt to poll and not allow the rest of the "mapped" devices to be poll.

Environment

Release : 9.1 to 10.0.2

Component : NQRPTA - REPORTERANALYZER

Resolution

1. Upgrade to NFA 10.0.2 and apply the patch below or upgrade to 10.0.3 or higher as the fix is included in this release.

2. Download NFA_10.0.2_PTF_006.zip to each harvester server.

3. Extract the files and follow the directions in the readme to apply.
