Datacom Online Compression doesn't seem to compress all the rows

Issue/Introduction

A Datacom/DB table has been compressed via TA24 feature and this task seems to have successfully completed:

DB02823I - TABLE_ALTER_24X7 001 ABC STATUS COMPLETE

But browsing the dataset related to the area via ISPF, there are some records that are perfectly readable, so it seems they have not been compressed.

However, when the area is backed up via DBUTLTY, the resulting backup file contains only compressed (i.e. non-readable) records.

Release : 15.1

Component : CA DATACOM/DB

Resolution

The uncompressed records are logically deleted rows that have not been yet removed from the physical dataset. This is the reason because there are only compressed records on the backup file.
