NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Issue/Introduction

Cust reported thus:

For a VIPA distributor defined on LPAR SYSA it is being issued the following message  on each monitoring
cycle of 10 minutes:

IPVP1101 No managing region available on LPAR SYSB

These NetMaster instances communicate between them via INMC link--but are not with associated images
(linked). Are additional changes necessary?

Environment

OS : z/OS

Release : 12.2

Component : CA NetMaster Network Management for TCP/IP

Resolution

NetMaster Level 2 Support provided these remarks for the solution (note: AA etc.  are changed

from  the original):

-

Regions must be Linked and Synched in order for regions to determine remote LPAR statuses.

Just reproduced the following on AAAA9 and AAAA30--even though I have           an INMC link

(which is what cust have):

IPVP1101 No managing region available on LPAR AA31

IPVP1101 No managing region available on LPAR AA31

We have an ACTIVE link but it is not Linked and Synched:

SH LINKS=ALL

N13505 --LINKNAME-- -STATUS- MODE MSGID --NODE-- TYPE PEER -TIME DIFF-

N13506 AAAA30 ACTIVE S AAAA AAAA30 STAT HOST +00:00:00.00

N13523 SESS#....1 ACTIVE

N13524 TOTALS: STATIC LINKS= 1 DYNAMIC LINKS= 0 DYNAMIC LIMIT=99

When it was Linked and Synched that message didn't come out -- so the regions need to be

Linked and Synched before this information can  work itself out.
