Issue/Introduction

This article provides tips on how to search for known Clarity articles, communities posts, and documentation.

Resolution

STEP 1:  Identify the problem

Including Errors from UI and logs to help in more in depth searching

See Clarity Debugging/Logs for troubleshooting - Master list of KB Articles

STEP 2:  Search from the CA Support Broadcom portal

       1.  Log in to https://support.broadcom.com/enterprise-software

       2.  Enter search criteria and click enter

Example of screen shot of results below:

       3. To search specially for KBs, click on the 'Filter by Content Type' drop down on the left hand side and select Knowledge Base

(By default, it searches all self service including knowledge articles, communities, documentation)

      4. Note: You can also search from google, adding the following to your search string will help narrow this down to Clarity related KBs:
      site:https://knowledge.broadcom.com/ clarity

      Example search phrase:
site:https://knowledge.broadcom.com/ clarity msp caused a serious error

     Tips:

  1. Search using multiple keywords as well as error messages from UI, developer tools and logs
  2. Add Clarity into search criteria to help narrow down search
  3. May need to search on both abbreviations and full words:
    1. Examples:
      1. For Load DWH, may have to search on “DWH” and “Data Warehouse”
      2. For New User Experience issues, search on multiple key words such as New UX, NUX, Modern UX
  4. For issues specific to incremental versus full Load DWH, add incremental or full into search
  5. See the following KB: Clarity Master KBs for frequently reported issues to help expedite searching
    • Note: KBs contained in these articles are not all inclusive, so if a match for your issue isn’t found, please also search using the CA Support search portal

Communities forum tip:

See the following post to utilize the communities to reach out to other customers and support engineers for help: Getting Started with Broadcom Communities

Notes:

  • For Clarity, the idea section is not applicable, see Create Enhancement Request for Clarity for the process for Clarity
  • The how to use search in the above link is specific for searching in communities, but you can also search communities posts using the steps in this article and clicking on the Communities tab
