Issue/Introduction

After IPL CAS9 CAIRIM generates the following messages:

IEC988I CAS9,CAS9,AUTOCMDS-aaaaa.bbbb,xxxxxx.CCS.CAW0OPTN DATA SET
NOT UNALLOCATED DURING CLOSE RC 04
IEF196I IEC988I CAS9,CAS9,AUTOCMDS-aaaaa.bbbb,xxxxxx.CCS.CAW0OPTN
IEF196I DATA SET NOT UNALLOCATED DURING CLOSE RC 04

Is it possible to use an option or parameter for CARIM so it doesn't attempt to deallocate the DD AUTOCMDS when closing?

These messages have NO IMPACT.  CAS9 has completed.  IPL continues normally.

Environment

Message occurs after Z/OS 1.12

Release : 15.0 and 14.1

Component : CA Resource Initialization Manager(Comm)

Cause

The CLOSE MACRO for the AUTOCMDS dataset has always specified FREE=CLOSE.  This was NOT a problem before Z/OS 1.12 when IBM started to generate the 2 reported messages.

This is caused by concatenating 2 datasets for the AUTOCMDS DD and CAS9 being started as SUB=MSTR

Resolution

The AUTOCMDS DD should only include one dataset(member) ie there can be no concatenation of AUTOCMDS when starting CAS9 as SUB=MSTR.
