Issue/Introduction

As the portfolio manager I am unable to edit financials in the financial view.

Example: Unable to edit planned cost and total capital cost in the Investment Planning by period on the Financial tab of the portfolio.

Cause

This is working as designed:

  • Financial fields aren't editable on the Financial tab in a portfolio unless in plan mode, as  financial data gets pulled in from the investment's cost plan.
  • In plan mode, the total columns are still not editable, as the fields are calculated based on the data in Planned amounts by period grid.

Environment

Release : All Supported Releases

Component : CA PPM SAAS FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Resolution

Areas you can edit cost in plan mode:

  • If you are in plan mode, you can edit the cost data for operating cost, capital cost, benefit in the planned amounts by period grid and then this will update your planned cost for the investment.
  • Example, if you update the operating cost for Nov 19, then this will update the planned operating cost total for the investment and also the planned cost.

To edit the data in the portfolio in plan mode:

1. Create a plan for the portfolio

2. Go to the Financials tab and select the plan from the Plan drop down

3. Now you can edit values for a specific period/month and then these totals will get populated into the totals for the investment.

Edits where no plan is required to edit data:

  • On Targets tab for a Portfolio you can edit Capital and Operating costs (targets or monthly values) but the total cost is a calculated field.
