Issue/Introduction
We are noticing there are devices that are duplicated in the Data Aggregator but not in Performance Center. The device is synchronized to Performance Management via the Spectrum integration, and from the Data Aggregator as both an SNMP Managed, and a Virtual Network Assurance (VNA) contributed device.
Cause
This would happen if a device comes over from Spectrum via integration with PM for DA discovery, where it comes in with a different IP address than the one discovered in DA through VNA.
Environment
Performance Management and VNA releases r3.7.2 and earlier
Resolution
In r3.7.3+ versions the primary IP address of the devices should not be changed so if it were due to an IP address change, we would see two distinctly different items.
This would need resolution on the device side prior to r3.7.3 releases, ensuring the IP address used is the same on all contributing data sources sending the device to the Data Aggregator and Performance Management.
Releases r3.7.3 and newer would not show this issue. If so we should investigate further via a new support case.
