DB Unload fails at the 30 minute mark with a DEADLOCK and ORA-03135: connection lost contact

Issue/Introduction

When running an Unload (as part of maintenance) the unload fails at a specific time interval with the following:

Resolution

This is due to a firewall/network setting that is severing the connection.


This can be due to the time involved in running a single command (for example, removing millions of rows in one sql statement).
