Issue/Introduction

The AUTOMATE functions will be dropped in the next CA OPS/MVS release.

Some answers to the next questions related to the discontinue of the AUTOMATE function support

- Will Automate Rule Conversion stop to work?

- Will  CA OPS/MVS Rules, which have been converted from Automate still work?

- Will the Usermod ++USERMOD(OPUM001), which provide a load of load modules still work?
  (e.g.   ADDRULE, BIND, CLIST, CPCMD, DELRULE, DELVAR, DOM, GETSCRN, GETVAR, GETVARL,
           MLWTO, OSCMD, PARSE, READVAR, REPLY, REXX, SESSCMD, SETVAR, SQL, STATETBL, TSOCMD,
           UNBIND, WAIT, WRITEVAR, WTL, WTO, WTOH, WTOR)

- Will the Automation command processor be discontinued?

Resolution

- Will Automate Rule Conversion stop to work?

        This will not work.

- Will OPS Rules, which have been converted from Automate still work?

       Converted rules will continue to work.

- Will the Usermod ++USERMOD(OPUM001), which provide a load of load modules.

       The USERMOD will still be supplied and command processors will continue to work.

Will the Automate command processor be discontinued?

       There are no plans to remove the command processors.
