What should be done to resolve the the message that occurs when Spool starts? ESF172 Unsupported Connect:Direct Release found
Release: Output Management Spool for z/OS 14.0
When Spool starts, it tries to establish an API environment and checks the release level if the Connect:Direct load library is present either in a STEPLIB DD of the Spool task or in Linklist. The minimum release level is 4.7.
If there are not any Connect:Direct nodes defined to Spool, the message can be ignored since it will not stop Spool processing. Otherwise, the error message can be eliminated by removing the unsupported Connect:Direct load library from the STEPLIB DD of the Spool task OR System Linklist concatenations.
If there Connect:Direct nodes defined to Spool, follow these steps:
Update the Spool procedure STEPLIB with a Connect:Direct load library of version 4.7 or newer.
Recycle the task.
