CA Output Management Web Viewer

Issue/Introduction

Need the process of updating the Java path in the tomcat service.  Having an issue since someone upgraded JAVA and now the service won’t start. Must you edit the java properties tab in the service?  Couldn’t quite remember the syntax to get into the panel.

Environment

Release : 12.1

Component : CA OUTPUT MANAGEMENT WEB VIEWER FOR ALL PLATFORMS

Resolution

You will first need the NAME of the tomcat service:

You see above the DISPLAY name id Apache Tomcat 8.5. But the SERVICE name is Tomcat8forCAOMWebViewer12

So, to get the Tomcat/Windows config tool, you need to set your current directory (in a DOS window) to the /bin directory below tomcat.

Then issue the following command:

tomcat8w //ES//Tomcat8forCAOMWebViewer12

The " Tomcat8forCAOMWebViewer12" is the Service name for a Tomcat. Substitute the Tomcat Service Name at your site.

And the followingTabbed Dialog Box should be displayed:

Go to the Java tab and you'll find and place to configure the Java Virtual Machine dll. It may look something like:

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_221\bin\server\jvm.dll

Your site's may/will be different.

Also make sure to allocate enough memory pool - 1025 MB, at least.
