Need to create a connection profile for a MySQL 5.7 database.

Installed the Connector/J component and copied the mysql-connector-java-8.0.18.jar file to folder C:\Program Files\CA\CA Test Data Manager Portal\tomcat\jdbc-drivers and restarted the Portal.

The MySQL database runs in Azure.

The application that starts, in Tomcat, requires the following information to be added in the connection string to indicate that MySQL uses SSL and is in UTC time zone.

When creating the connection profile from the TDM Portal, the following error message is presented:

Failed to connect.

The server replied: Failed to obtain JDBC Connection; The server time zone value '' is unrecognized or represents more than one time zone. You must configure either the server or JDBC driver (via the serverTimezone configuration property) to use a more specifc time zone value if you want to utilize time zone support.

Release : 4.8.1

Component : CA Test Data Manager

Needed needed to change, in Azure, the timezone to UTC and this resolved the issue.
