Issue/Introduction

The following error message was displayed when doing a quick explain of a package:

* ERROR: NO TARGET SPECIFIED. CURRENT TARGET = ( ) *       

 

Environment

Release : 20.0

Component : Plan Analyzer for DB2 for z/OS

Resolution

The problem is caused by missing TARGET control card which defaults to TARGET = ( ) *   causing the error. To resolve the error message add the following card to the control cards after ISOLATE before resubmitting the explain job:

TARGET = (SSID(@@RULDBA))
