Issue/Introduction

This document describes the ways in which IDMS can use 64-bit storage.

Environment

Release : All supported releases.

Resolution

IDMS supports 64-bit addressing in z/OS. 64-bit storage above 2-gigabytes can be used for the following:

1. File cache in memory
2. The scratch area

 The storage and programs pools cannot be placed in 64-bit storage
