If I understand correctly, when Autosys fails over from the primary to the shadow, the shadow scheduler sends a notification to all agents informing them that it has taken over control of all processing going forward. This initiates an update to the agentpam.txt file on every agent to change the line entry for communication.manageraddress_1 from the primary server name to the shadow server name.
1) is my understanding correct?
2) if so, what port does the shadow use to send out the notification?
3) under what authority does the system agent attempt to perform the update to the agentparm.txt file?
Release : 11.3.6
Component : CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys)
When the shadow scheduler takes over it will reach out to all the agents to let them know it is now their manager.
As a result the agent will update its agentparm.txt with the shadow scheduler hostname.
The communication is handled just like any scheduler to agent communication, on the agent's port number.
The updating of the agentparm.txt file is done by the agent itself, which by default means root.
