Can CA View's SAREAS be defined with more than one TYPE=PRIMARY in a sysplex?

Resolution

Yes, more than one SAREAS task can be defined with TYPE=PRIMARY in a sysplex.

A SAREAS task with TYPE=PRIMARY is used to perform the tape mounts.

 

In this particular setup, the client will be having two environments, one for production and one for development, with two LPARs each. 

The client will be using a PRIMARY/SECONDARY pair, of SAREAS tasks, in each environment, to ensure that there will be at least one PRIMARY task available.
