Issue/Introduction

A batch job fails with an abend such as a S0C4 but completes with a RC0. The display of the job status in CA JMR shows ABENDED. Why, if the job completed with a RC0?

Resolution

CA JMR will display the job's actual status. In this case the job actually abended with a S0C4 even though an override or a step accepts the S0C4 and completes with a RC=00.

CA JMR reads through the job output and sees the abend S0C4. This sets the status flag to ABENDED and is displayed in the  ERROR column
