Notification Manager cannot reach SQL database

Issue/Introduction

When upgrading your Microsoft SQL database server for Automation Point Notification Manager and going to use TLS 1.2 instead of TLS 1.0, it's possible that during the logon there will be an issue
It's possible to get an error message 'Unable to validate login' due to the following error:

VOX6066E Could not connect to MDB database (RC=6066) Remaingint attempt: n

Cause

Microsoft SQL 2008 without any update does not support TLS 1.2 

Resolution

It's needed to upgrade the MS SQL client component/driver. The new version is MS SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008 R2 Native client. This is supporting TLS 1.2

 

 

Additional Information

This isn't only valid for the MS SQL 2008 version, but also for other MS SQL versions.
