Issue/Introduction

Unable to remove inactive robots (decomissioned servers) from IM and alert is getting triggered for same.

Environment

Release : UIM 8.5.1 or later

Resolution

Here are the steps to be followed.

1. Make sure you do not monitor these inactive robots from probes like rsp, net_connect or ICMP etc.

2. Execute the following query to find whether the robot entry is present in UIM tables or not.

select * from CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM where name='<robot name>'

3. Once you find any entry in CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM table, then follow below.

a. Go to primary hub robot and open the controller probe utility for discovery_server probe.

b. Select "remove_master_devices_by_cskeys" callback and provide the cs_key from the above query then execute.

c. Verify the the following tables for robot entry whether they are still present or not.

select * from CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM where name='<robot name>'

select * from CM_NIMBUS_ROBOT where robot='<robot name>'

3. In case if the robot entry doesn't present in CM_COMPUTER_SYSTEM table, then check the below query.

select * from CM_NIMBUS_ROBOT where robot='<robot name>'

4. In case if you find the robot entry in the above query (point 3), then delete the entry from the table.

5. Delete the robot from hub probe GUI under Robots tab. (right click on robot and click on Remove).

In case if you still getting an alert and you do not need the decommissioned robot data anymore, you may take help from DBA to delete the robot data from S_QOS_DATA tables (Make sure you delete only data with respect to required robot) and follow the above points again.
