Issue/Introduction

When trying to save a project back from Microsoft Project (MSP) to Clarity, receiving a Target error. Excerpt of error message below:

"Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt."

It also won't let me close MS Project. It keeps saying it's in process. In order to close out of MSP, I have to force shut down through task manager.

Cause

This issue can happen if there is an issue with something on the environment such as the Database causing the issue.

Environment

Release : All supported releases

Component : CA PPM SAAS MICROSOFT PROJECT (MSP)

Resolution

  • Check for any environmental issues including database or application issues. (On Demand/SaaS customers, please contact Broadcom support for assistance)
  • If users are also reporting issues within Clarity (such as not being able to save changes to projects or timesheets, these symptoms point to there being an issue on the environment causing the issue)
