Issue/Introduction

Hello,

We have a problem with a production job that is running CA-Disk r12.5 on z/OS 2.2.

It is an archive job that archives several datasets but is getting a condition code 8 because one of the files gets a message which says ‘NO CATALOG ENTRIES WERE FOUND’ even though the dataset does exist. The dataset does get deleted and archived and can be restored.

The condition code 8 is stopping the job flow due to conditon code checking in CA-7.

I will attach the output of the archive job.

The file with the problem is G.SYTD.CNPF30.POSPAY.WARRANT.WELLS.G0001V00.

Environment

Release : 12.5

Component : CA Disk Backup and Restore

Resolution

Set Sysparm CCDRESET to Y

Additional Information

CCDRESETn Valid for REPORTS, ARCHIVE, BACKUP, BACKUPCC, RELEASE, MOVE, COPY, BILLING, and ISPF

While processing the DSCL FIND command, if CA Disk returns the message 2793 NO CATALOG ENTRIES WERE FOUND TO MATCH DSN = add, a job return code of at least 8 is issued for the job. Specifying this sysparm with a value of Y suppresses the job condition code to 0. All other errors encountered will still cause the appropriate job condition to be reset.

The default value of N leaves the condition code of 8 unchanged. If a user desires an alternate return code for msg 2793 , use ' 2793 OI' for RC=4 and ' 2793 OG' for RC=0 in CCSET member of parmlib and set sysparm CCDRESET to Y.
