Issue/Introduction

Should CA IDEAL/IPC system programs that are linked with AMODE=31,RMODE=ANY be defined in CICS with DATALOC(ANY) ?

Component : CA IDEAL and CA IPC

Resolution

DATALOCATION for a Program is primarily affecting the COMMAREA which is irrelevant for IDEAL and IPC.

We do not recommend to change DATALOC from BELOW to ANY for the IDEAL/IPC system programs.

 

IDEAL Load Modules that are linked AMODE=31,RMODE=ANY for IDEAL application programs can have DATALOC(ANY) . 
URT programs linked with AMODE=31,RMODE=ANY can have DATALOC(ANY) in the CICS program definition as well.
