Issue/Introduction

Did you know what you need to check when an unusual character is displayed in the RC/Edit browse or edit mode for a particular code page?

Resolution

Please check the setting for RC/Edit profile option "Supress CCSID data conversion" :

Field:       Suppress CCSID data conversion

Description: Indicate whether you want data to be converted based as per the terminal CCSID. 

Values:      Y    YES  Suppress the CCSID data conversion.      

                 N    NO   (Default) Convert the data according to the user terminal CCSID.                                    

                       1. Fetch the data from a table without conversion. 

                       2. Convert the data to the terminal CCSID.         

                       3. Display hex presentation similar to DB2.
