Event Dispatcher Not Started

Issue/Introduction

In trying to Activate and Enable a script, it fails with message:

"Event Dispatcher not started"

Resolution

To start the Event Dispatchers (Servers) check the following VKGPARMS and CONFIG statements:

 

- COMP=AUTO must be activated in the CONFIG member

- VKGPARMS parameter SUAUT must be set to Y

 

Additional VKGPARMS parameters used to start different types of Event Serves:

 

Event Type      Sysparm

GOA             AUTGOA 

CONMSG          AUTMSG 

DMSMSG          AUTDMS 

RTHSMMSG        HSMMLOG 

HSMLOG          AUTHSM 

LOG             AUTLOG 

AUDIT           AUTAUDIT

SYSTEM          AUTSYS 

 

The related VKGPARMS (Sysparm) parameter must be set Y to start the Event Server.

 

Use the  "Sever (Event Type) Status" object (AUTEVENT) Automation Event Types (which can be found under the "Automation and Logging" branch in the windows client) to verify the status of the Servers.
