Issue/Introduction

I increased the number of cycles in DB2GENIN on the DB2DSU file from 25 to 50 followed by running a sp.CNTL(DB2CGEN) and a p.CNTL(COPYLIBU).
After completing these jobs, the p.PARMS(DBMODEL) still shows the original value of 25 for the DB2DSU file.

Environment

Release : 14.1

Component : CA MICS DB2 ANALYZER

Resolution

Since you only want to update the number of cycles, you will have to do this manually to your p.PARMS(DBMODEL) and then gen with CYCLEGEN.

CYCLE changes made to cccGENIN are only reflected after the cccCGEN + COPYLIBU job if you:

  •  add a file
  •  delete a file
  •  change any cycles from non zeros to zeros

Therefore running a COPYLIBU & CYCLEGEN will not affect the p.p(DBMODEL) in this case.

It is still a good idea to update the DB2GENIN CYCLE information in addition to the DBMODEL member so that the two are in sync.
