Issue/Introduction

SMF director 12.7

Due to time change my SMF extract production jobs are now getting:

 

CAF2411E   SMF DATA FOR SYSA 11/03/2019 1:00:00 OVERLAPS DATA ALREADY IN INDEX

 

Doing a LISTH shows the overlap:

But these are valid since the time changed backwards. So I can't delete the 23:58 one or the 01:00 one without losing SMF data.

 

 

 

 

How do we resolve this?

Cause

This message is issued by CA SMF DIRECTOR (JARS SMF) when the EXTRACT finds an OVERLAPPING condition.

Resolution

You should be able to correct this by issuing a PARM=PERMIT and by setting the OVERLAP(0) to a higher number... up to 5.

So, bypass the error using the parameter PERMIT.

Additional Information

Since you don't need to "fix" any entries, you should use/specify

parameter PERMIT which will allow the records to be processed.

No need to use ADDX or DELETX in this circumstance.
