For those clients running any scanning that have determined some Java vulnerabilities are found and patches and/or updates are required.
Does CA Automation Point support all of the Java patches and updates available for download and install?
CA Automation Point works with Java patches and updates , whether it is already installed distributed version updated via Java update or whether it is new version of Java downloaded and installed for the fresh CA Automation Point installation.
The only reported problem, would be an existing CA Automation Point system that is already using Java and a newer version would be installed along and the old version uninstalled.
We only support the version we distribute, but using new version straight away or updating the distributed version (not installing both versions along) will solve any issues.
Be aware that Tomcat has its own a built-in function that allows you to maintain Java. If you decide not to use it and update Java externally then you might experience problems starting the Tomcat Service via the Configuration Manager tool. Problems are caused due to missing Java pre-requisites. To resolve it you have the option to reinstall Tomcat so the new Java is found and used. The Tomcat.exe file in the CA Automation Point directory should be executed for the reinstall.
