Issue/Introduction

Need to change password for MWIPROD user profile

Environment

PTC Implementer 11.0 to 12.6

Cause

Resolution

MIWPROD user profile MUST have a password - cannot be left blank or set to *NONE

IF IMCOM SUBSYSTEM OR DAEMON JOBS IN QUSRWRK ARE RUNNING ON HOST AND/OR RECEIVER(S), end subsystems by using ICOMCTL command with appropriate parameters & SDPRC(Y)

Note that password must be UPPER CASE only

1.CHANGE IBMi MWIPROD user profile password on all systems

2.CHANGE IMCMNUSR data area password on all systems

If on PTC release earlier than 11.0

  • Log on as QSECOFR, change data area IMCMNUSR in Implementer product library
  • CHGDTAARA DTAARA(Implementer product library)/IMCMNUSR (11 10)) VALUE(new password)

If on PTC release 11.0 or later

  • As QSECOFR, use IUPDCMNUSR command to change data area, since password is now encrypted
  • Must be done on both host and receiver(s), as passwords must match
  • Verify data area set to *PUBLIC *EXCLUDE for security purposes

3.Verify user profile setting of initial menu = *SIGNOFF

4.RESTART daemon jobs on all systems

IF USING IMPLEMENTER SERVER

To determine if using Implementer server

  • Go to Implementer server Option 49
  • Screen will be populated and Use Implementer Server will be Y & Current status will be Started

1.  IF RUNNING ON a system other than the IBMi (Host address will be name other than LOCALHOST), USING MWIPROD USER PROFILE
