XCOM Data Transport XCOM Data Transport - z/OS XCOM - SUPPORT

Issue/Introduction

We are seeing some odd XCOM0257E messages for *SOME* TSO users when starting the ISPF interface.  The message shows no dataset names, and we are getting no SAF message to match.  Is there a way you would suggest we troubleshoot? The complete message is "XCOMM0257E ACCESS DENIED BYSECURITY INTERFACE "

Environment

Release : 12.0

Component : CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS

Resolution

Message "XCOMM0257E ACCESS DENIED BYSECURITY INTERFACE "  is basically telling you that you received a security violation from your security package based on what you are doing. Based on the information provided you are doing a TYPE=EXECUTE transfer via the XCOM ISPF panels If so, I believe that the message is caused by not specifying a password in the Remote System Information section of the panel.

Additional Information

The message was reproduced by not specifying the password in the Remote System Information section of the panel.
