Missing IP on Client Automation Agents on top of Linux machines

Issue/Introduction

After AM Agent was installed on Linux machine, the inventory is shown correctly but the IP is missing. 


Here is an example of how the inventory detail and structure is shown correctly:




And here is shown that only the IP is missing:




Environment

Client Automation 14 SP2 and SP3


Cause

On the above example, the Linux release is Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6, but this may happen on different Linux releases.


Newer versions of Linux come without "net-tools" installed, which is used by AM Agent to run some commands to collect local inventory.

Resolution

Install "net-tools" on the target Agent and re run the Hardware Inventory task.
