Remote Console

Issue/Introduction

Account userid terminal is automatically being forced off by Remote Console. Why is this happening and how can we stop this?

Environment

Release:  2.3

Component: Remote Console

Resolution

In the Reference Guide Chapter 2 Statements and Commands you will find the ACCOUNT statement. One of the options is AUTOLOGOFF.

AUTOLOGOFF=nnnn

nnnn

Represents the number of minutes CA-Remote Console should wait before

logging off an inactive session. (A session is considered inactive if a user has not

entered data on the command input line in more than this number of minutes.)

The valid range for this operand is 1 to 32,767 minutes.

OFF

OFF tells CA-Remote Console not to log off an inactive session.

Initial Value:

The value specified on the RCSOPT AUTOLOGOFF command.

It is likely that you have a value in AUTOLOGOFF that is forcing the automatic shutdown of a specific account.

When this occurs you might see this message in the started task output.

RCS5611 USER userid FORCED OFF CA-REMOTE CONSOLE FROM termid

Recommend, if you do not want the terminal to be logged off, that you set AUTOLOGOFF=OFF
