Issue/Introduction
By default, the Identity Portal password reset process may require the use of an IDM Global Username. If user experience requirements necessitate the use of an email address for this process, administrators can modify the Identity Manager "Forgotten Password" task to support email-based identification.
Environment
Identity Portal
Resolution
To enable email-based identification for password resets, complete the following configurations in both Identity Manager and Identity Portal:
Configure Identity Manager Task:
Log in to the Identity Manager Management Console.
Navigate to the "Forgotten Password" task.
Modify the Identify Profile screen to use the Email field as the primary identifier instead of the Global Username.
Update Identity Portal Localization:
Log in to the Identity Portal administration interface.
Navigate to the Localization section.
Edit the field label associated with the password reset screen to reflect "Email Address" so that the UI accurately represents the updated search field to the end user.
