SystemEDGE Installation is failing due to "Unsupported Linux" error but platform is supported

Issue/Introduction

• We are trying to install SystemEDGE 5.9 on Oracle Enterprise Linux, but SytemEDGE Installation is failing due to "Unsupported Linux" error.
• Errors in the log:

Component : VPM GENERAL

Cause

• OS is determined by calling uname
• Installer then checks for one of the following files:

/etc/redhat-release

/etc/SuSE-release

/etc/debian_version

• If none of the above files are present the installation will terminate with "Unsupported OS" Message.

Resolution

1. Verify you are installing SystemEDGE on a supported plaftorm (see Compatilbity Matrix linked below)
2. Make sure the following files are intact (based on target platform):

/etc/redhat-release

/etc/SuSE-release

/etc/debian_version
