Resolution

The VKGPARMS parameters RAIDSUPP and HWOBJINC are not only for Hitachi, but also for other vendors.

The reason that RAIDSUPP(Y) and HWOBJINC(Y) are needed:

When adding spares volumes from the OBJ02340 object, there are two extra values used and compared to adding spares from the POOLS object: Desired SSID and Replication Groups.
In order to get the Desired SSID, the RAIDSUPP(Y) and HWOBJINC(Y) parameters need to be enabled. This information can be gathered only via RAID objects. In fact, object VOLUMES combines data from the LSPACEPO object and the RAIDLVOL object. The RAIDLVOL object will not be available without RAIDSUPP(Y) and HWOBJINC(Y).

Regarding the two aditional objects, OBJ02238 and OBJ02239, which are optional, they can also be found in the RAID Devices object tree, under Hitachi Arrays/TrueCopy Configuration. Since these are optional, do not pay too much attention to them in the MSGE messages.

The Desired SSID and Replication Groups act as additional selection criteria for choosing a spare to be added to the SMS storage group, when adding spare volumes from OBJ02340.
