Issue/Introduction

The dSeries server shutdown and tracelogs may show following or similar errors

20XX0101 12:11:18.553 [essential] [FATAL] 911-Service: The cause of the server shutdown: 
cybermation.library.FatalServerError: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Could not complete cursor operation because the table schema changed after the cursor was declared.

In some cases, the database may be online but not available for updates or DML operations.   Users may see following or similar error in tracelogs:

 com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: Cannot open database "PROD" requested by the login. The login failed.

Version: Any

Cause

The database is inaccessible to dSeries.

Resolution

Make sure the database is up and running.  Contact database administrator for more details.

If the database is a cloud managed (e.g. Azure SQL), then check with cloud vendor for any maintenance schedules.
