CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM) CA Privileged Access Manager - Cloakware Password Authority (PA) CA Privileged Access Manager - Server Control (PAMSC)

Issue/Introduction

The performance of PAM's Transparent Logins are very slow.

Environment

Component : PRIVILEGED ACCESS MANAGEMENT

Cause

Traditionally because Transparent Logins are copying over EXE(s) (XsuiteTLAgent.exe, XsuiteTLLearnTool.exe and cv.exe) to execute our commands,  these EXE(s) are subjected to getting scanned by Anti-Virus\Endpoint Protection Tools and therefore slows down our Tool.

It can also be due to the resource limitation on the jump server.

Resolution

To speed this up, you can enable our Transparent Login cache:

PAM UI >> Global Settings, Applet Customization, Transparent Login Cache:

When cache is set to "Enable" in Global Settings, Applet Customization, Transparent Login Cache, the Windows target caches the Transparent Login Agent (TLA), Learn Tool, and Control Viewer that are downloaded during connection from CA Privileged Access Manager when transparent login has been configured, provisioned, and activated. On subsequent connections to that Windows target, the load times for these applications are reduced.

Also check if sufficient CPU/RAM/IO is allocated to the Jump Server.
