Abandoned Transaction essentially means that Cardholder abandoned the process of registration of the card during ADS (Activation During Shopping).
What does an “Abandoned Transaction” mean in a Payment Security 3-D Secure environment?
Abandoned Transaction essentially means that Cardholder abandoned the process of registration of the card during ADS (Activation During Shopping). Abandoned transaction could be due to various reasons like:
1. The cardholder does not click the submit button to complete the transaction.
2. The process is timed-out due to the system/browser being kept idle.
3. The cardholder closed the browser before completing the registration process.
4. Explicit closure of popups or use of popup killers.
Abandoned Transactions will not reflect on the reports immediately. An inactive/Abandoned transaction would be stored in the temporary memory until this is updated into the database. The update of the database would happen when the temporary memory(Ring Buffer) flush happens. The flush time depends on the ring buffer slots that are filled during the flush time and the number of slots occupied depends on the number of abandoned transactions and the transactions currently in progress.
